  • Alexis tells Chloe that she's afraid Ned will remember too well his time with Lois when Eddie Maine makes his comeback. But when Ned gets cold feet, Alexis reminds him that he really wants to perform. (5/4)

  • Juan begins to be jealous of Lucky, and resents, a little, the time and energy Emily's spending with Elizabeth because of him. Meanwhile, Lucky pays Emily a visit in her room, and assures her that he's alright. She hides him when her parents come to see her. (5/10)
  • AJ rebuffs an offer of friendship from his father, saying all he wants from his parents is their help to see Michael. Monica and Alan reach out to Emily as they reflect that they may have lost two sons now, with AJ's recent behavior. (5/10)
  • AJ meets with Jax and threatens to back out unless Jax fully intends to take down ELQ. Jax assures him the deal will go down, and AJ signs away his stock. Edward arrives, and AJ tells his grandfather that he wants him to lose everything. Edward then appeals to Jax for a compromise, but Jax won't back down. Edward tells Jax he'll be sorry. (5/10)

  • At the hospital, Alan squares off with Stefan over Tony Jones. (5/17)
  • An anxious Ned makes rehearsal tough for his band. Juan and Emily look on, imagining the day he'll be the one on stage. Alexis arrives and manages to get Ned to calm down and sing for her. (5/18)
  • When Edward calls Sonny to the Quartermaine house for a meeting about Jax's attempt on ELQ, Carly goes along to visit Lila. While Edward and Sonny talk, Carly comes downstairs from Lila's room and runs into AJ on the way up. They argue, and Carly loses her balance and falls down the stairs, her screams attracting Sonny and Edward and horrifying AJ. (5/19)
  • Sonny stays with Carly while Edward calls for the ambulance. A stunned AJ takes a drink from his flask, then tries to defend himself. Edward rages at him, and after Sonny and Carly leave for the hospital, Monica and Alan arrive. Edward throws him out, and he's getting ready to drive when Hannah stops him. I. Edward Tries to Circle the Wagons (5/3)

Edward: "You tell that viper to call me the second that meeting is over. I have every right to call her that. She's my daughter."

Monica: "You tried to pawn A.J. for Michael and Jason. If it costs you E.L.Q., you have yourself to blame."
Edward: "I will not let Jax get away with this. I will save my company despite everything that your turncoat son has done to destroy me. Get--excuse me. I'm out of here."

Monica: "No, for once I disagree. I think he knew exactly what he was doing. He slapped Edward in the face and cut himself off from the family."
Alan: "And now he has an unlimited supply of cash at his disposal."
Monica: "I can only imagine what he'll do with it. And the damn thing is we can't stop him."

Monica: "I just feel so useless. I feel--I feel like I failed him."
Alan: "We have failed him in a way by favoring Jason all these years."
Monica: "I wish we could go back."
Alan: "Well, we can't go back, Monica. We're in the present. We've got to deal with A.J. right now."

Monica: "We have to force him into rehab."
Alan: "You can't force him into seeing something he doesn't want to see, Monica. He's got to bottom out."
Monica: "Is that your brilliant solution? Wait till he sees the light? When is that going to be, Alan, before or after he kills himself?"

Alan: "You know what we're doing? We're falling into the same old trap of fighting over A.J. when there is no obvious answer. It is not helping him."
Monica: "Or us. No, you're right. We can't get so caught up in A.J.'s problems we lose sight of each other. I just wish there was something we could do, some positive step we could take."
Alan: "There's got to be something to help him turn his life around."
Monica: "Michael."

Monica: "Carly is such a vindictive tramp, she'd keep Michael away from him just out of spite."
Alan: "Look, if we brought mother into this--"
Monica: "Maybe she could get through to Carly."

Edward: "Oh, what a touching sight. Perhaps if you had poured some of that concern on your drunken louse of a son, he might not be trying to sell E.L.Q. to the enemy."
Alan: "Don't you accuse me of anything when you've done nothing but belittle A.J. You've taught him to double-cross his family, lie, and deceive. Congratulations. He's a master now. If you lose everything, it's your own fault."
Edward: "Well, that may be. But if E.L.Q. flounders, I won't be the only one who loses. Either we stand together or Jax will take everything."

II. A Meeting of the L&B Groupie Society (5/3)

Ned: "Even more radiant than usual."
Alexis: "I had a facial."

Alexis: "I actually stopped working and went to the spa because I know there's going to be a lot of young, screaming fans who are going to throw their underwear at you, and I want to stay competitive."

Alexis: "It's just it's odd because it just brings everything so close to home."
Ned: "Meaning?"
Alexis: "Meaning I see myself in him. I see what he's trying to do. He's trying to start his own life and make his own decisions. And he does that, and there's Stefan and Helena trying to pull him back."
Ned: "And did you offer him sage advice?"
Alexis: "I did."
Ned: "And did your words sink in?"
Alexis: "Why do I suddenly have the impression that I am now the subject?"
Ned: "Ah, you see the parallel."
Alexis: "I do, and I would like to call a moratorium on that subject. In fact, I'd like to change the subject. Sing!"
Ned: "We'll get back to that subject later. All right."

Ned: "Well, I was inspired by my number one fan."

Alexis: "He is talented and humble. How'd I get so lucky?"

Emily: "They don't like the tape?"
Juan: "Don't like the quality. Said it's no good. But I knew that when I was making it. Then I walk in here, and Ned's playing, and he's--"
Emily: "Got a lot more experience than you do? Yeah. He's also got success and money behind him. But you know what?"
Juan: "Reality bites?"
Emily: "No. It takes time to achieve all that, you know? And you're going to be good. You may even be better, you know? Once we get money for you, you are going to be on your way."
Juan: "You really believe in me."
Emily: "I believe in us."

III. The Disheartened Groupie (5/4)

Alexis: "Have you ever dated a rock star?"

Chloe's answer was that she had a date with one once, set up for the Prince's Trust Concert. I assume that was a reference to the date she stood up the first night Felicia found her, when she was planning to go to that event.

Alexis: "So you've never had the feeling of watching someone you love become a total stranger right in front of your very eyes? A very dynamic, sexy, talented stranger no doubt, but a stranger none the less."
Chloe: "Does this mean you're not as happy about Eddie Maine as you thought you would be?"
Alexis: "I never realized how much Ned likes to perform. And I'm--I'm trying to be very supportive of him, and I'm being his cheerleader. This is just a world that I don't really know anything about, so I feel like I'm speaking someone else's words and I'm standing in someone else's place."
Chloe: "Lois."
Alexis: "You know, she's--from what I understand--half the reason that Eddie Maine exists, so it would make sense that as Ned is discovering, rediscovering this part of himself, that he would miss her."
Chloe: "Maybe he does. I know that Jax misses Brenda. The trick is to not let myself think that he loves me any less because of that. I can't replace Brenda. I would never want to try. But what Jax feels for me is separate and special. Just like what Ned feels for you."

Alexis: "I have perfect faith in Ned. It's just this Eddie Maine I'm having trouble getting used to."

Chloe: "Try and remember--Eddie isn't real."
Alexis: "I know."
Chloe: "No, it's a role Ned plays. And thank god because the company needs the money. But Eddie Maine only exists on stage. I think, in the end, that's why Lois left. She wasn't prepared for Ned Ashton. You, on the other hand, already know you love him."
Alexis: "You're right. You are absolutely right. I will just think of this as a temporary thing. It's a phase that he's going through."

Alexis: "But I've been listening to you and every day there's a new reason why this concert shouldn't happen. Now, if you don't want to do it, if--if you really don't want to do it, just say so because I'm a master of finding loopholes."
Ned: "I'm just afraid that I'm going to walk out on that stage and freeze. That I won't be Eddie Maine. I'll be some guy trying to impersonate him. There's something sad about trying to relive the past."
Alexis: "Then don't. Sing for yourself. Whether it's Ned or Eddie, I don't really think it makes all that much difference. You do what you love. Or you walk away."
Ned: "And risk all those law suits?"
Alexis: "There'll be dozens."
Ned: "Not to mention all the disgruntled fans."
Alexis: "Irate promoters."
Ned: "L&B's creditors trying to repossess the furniture. I guess I better go through with it."
Alexis: "It's much more cost efficient that way."
Ned: "Plus, it's what I want to do. Thanks for reminding me."
Alexis: "It's included in my services."
Ned: "Hmm. I guess I'll pay you now."
Alexis: "You'll be just fine."
