Letter from the Editor
by Amy McWilliams
Welcome to the General Hospital Review!
Greetings! We're here with a light-and-breezy issue this hot July, and we
hope you're all finding ways to enjoy--or stay out of!--the heat.
This month, we've got two responses to the recent Nurses' Ball: First, Arda
steps into Joan's attitude with her review of the ball in "And Another Thing...";
Judy's up next in her "What's Cookin' on the Backburner" column with some missing
Nurses' Ball acts. We also feature a piece by a guest writer who points out the
good things about our soap in "The Floating Rib," as well as several "Quick Takes"
from our editors and an installment of "GH in Review." We also have a nice note
from a reader and photos and wallpaper in "Say Cheese!"
Remember, please bookmark the front page at our domain name (../../);
it will always give you the latest news about the review, including upcoming issues,
and will always be in place with links to everything GHR, current and past.
And no matter what happens behind the scenes, you'll always be able to find us.
We did recently move to a new server, and if you came to us through an outdated
link, it would help us greatly if you would inform that webmaster that we have
a new address.
Enjoy!
GH in Review
by Amy McWilliams
This month's review covers the first two weeks of April on GH.
I will hopefully be back to doing a full month in the next issue.
As always, thanks go to the GH
Transcripts Page. I depend on it as well as the daily updates from the official
ABC website and r.a.t.s.a. Thanks also to everybody on the GH side
of the Usenet newsgroup rec.arts.tv.soaps.abc for their discussion of the show,
and to the other editors, whose discussion always informs my own opinions and
makes the show so much more fun to watch.

"And Another Thing...": Nurses' Ball 2000
by Arda Darakjian Clark
Never one to mince words, Joan Roseman's opinion column has covered a
wide range of topics. This month, Arda steps in and gives her no-holds-barred
opinion on the Nurses' Ball.
"And Another Thing..."
What's Cookin' on the Backburner: Lost Acts from the Nurses' Ball
by Judy Ellison
Judy Ellison's concoction is a fictional look at the characters who are,
shall we say, not so busy right now. This time, Judy offers some acts that should
have been at this year's Nurses' Ball. Sit back, grab some chexmix, and sing along!

The Floating Rib: Why I Love GH
by Turner Arrington
I named the "Floating Rib" column for a restaurant that appeared as a
staple GH set back in the late '70s and early '80s. Its name fits this
column, which contains a different topic every time it appears.
This time, we feature a guest writer, Turner Arrington, reminding us of the
good things about GH. Turner has graciously allowed us to reprint this
post from r.a.t.s.a. [Ed. note: We inadvertently printed Turner's original
post when the issue first appeared; the revised version now replaces it, as of
7/12/00]

Quick Takes
This month in "Quick Takes," our editors chime in on Luke's arrest, foreshadowing,
Carly and Lucy, and the new summer hobby of brainwashing. If you have a quick
take of your own on something, send it along and we might publish it in our "Reader
Mail" column.
Quick Takes
Reader Mail
One reader disagrees with our editors on the subject of Elizabeth and
Jason's relationship. Read her opinion here. (Please note that this letter contains
a spoiler for the summer months.) And if you want to share your opinion on any
of our features (including Elizabeth and Jason!), we'd love to hear from you!
Please mark your note as an "editor letter" so we know you want it considered
for publication, whether you send it from the feedback form or through email.
Reader Mail
Say Cheese!
This month, we feature three wallpaper selections: two are our favorite
mother and son rivals, and the third is another classic photo prepared for your
desktop--you'll have to click to find out what long-time couple it is! There's
also a copy of last photo for you to download.
