Welcome to the General Hospital Review!
I have the curse of the dissertation on me. Not only should I be working on my current chapter all hours of the day and night so as not to miss my deadline by any more than I already have, but it seems that everything mechanical (you remember the dead computer of February?) is breaking down around me. The new computer was out of commission part of this month, and I'm still leery about my air conditioner, though they tell me it's fixed. And now the vacuum cleaner sounds like a lawn mower...
But here we are with the April issue. You'll find the regular review of recent episodes, as well as two pieces by our editors. Judy Ellison follows up on the mixed marrieds with her response to the conclusion of their scheme in "The Floating Rib," while Joan discusses soap rapes, rapists, and abusers in her "And Another Thing..." column. Enjoy!
If you're here, you'll know that we've moved! We had a bit of a bobble (see what I mean about that curse?) with the domain name as we switched over, but we've finally made it to our new home (with unlimited space!). If you came to us by way of the forwarding page at the old address, it would help us greatly if you'd give the referring webpage our new address--www.ghreview.com--to help us spread the word. And please make sure you're coming to us through that bookmarked address, rather than any other.
As always, thanks go to the GH Transcripts Page. I depend on it as well as the daily updates from the official ABC website and r.a.t.s.a. Thanks also to everybody on the GH side of the Usenet newsgroup rec.arts.tv.soaps.abc for their discussion of the show, and to the other editors, whose discussion always informs my own opinions and makes the show so much more fun to watch.
GH in Review: January 2000 Weeks 3 & 4
This month, Judy gives us a follow-up to a piece she did in September on the possibilities of the mixed marrieds. This month, she relates her disappointment with the ending of their storyline, again using Mozart to demonstrate her argument. If you missed the first piece, you can check it out at the "Past Issues" link in the menu bar.
Second, we're featuring the official Finola Hughes web page. There seems to be a severe lack of good Scorpio pages out there (and if you know of a good one, do send the link in!), and this official site focuses more on Finola's present work on All My Children. But on it you'll find messages from Finola, a chatroom, as well as information on her entire career.
As always, if you would like to recommend a site for recognition in a future issue, you can do so at the feedback form.
Fill out the feedback form.
