I. Jason Says Good-bye (1/17)
Jason: "You ok?"
Elizabeth: "Do you want me to say I am? Because I can do that. Yes, Jason, I'm fine, really. Thank you for asking. Good luck wherever you're going and I'll think of you."
Elizabeth: "Then why are you leaving? I mean, yesterday you were laughing. We were out on your bike. What changed?"
Jason: "Nothing. Nothing's going to change unless I go. There are people that I care about who are hurting every day because of me."
Elizabeth: "These people--am I one of them?"
Jason: "Yes."
Elizabeth: "No, you're wrong. I don't hurt because of you, Jason. I would hurt without you."
Jason: "Elizabeth, I've made you a target, a way to get to me. And I know that you're willing to take the risk, but you don't really understand what it means to have guards around all the time, to be afraid every day. It makes your world so small. It takes away your freedom. And you don't want that. You told me so yourself."
Elizabeth: "So you're--you're leaving to protect me?"
Jason: "That's part of it, but not all of it. There are people here who will be better off without me."
Elizabeth: "Do you know how hard it is to lose the only person who believes I can figure out my own life?"
Jason: "You're not losing me. I'm just going away."
Elizabeth: "Thank you for telling me. I mean that."
Jason: "Good-bye."
Elizabeth: "No. I'll see you later."
II. Emily and Elizabeth Blame it on Carly (1/19)
Elizabeth: "Carly definitely has something to do with this. But she's not the only reason. After that bomb was placed in my studio, Jason's been worried about me. He said he was making me a target and he was going to make sure that I wasn't going to get hurt."
Emily: "Elizabeth, you can't take this on yourself. Look, it may be true, but Jason leaving is not your fault."
Elizabeth: "I know. I know. You're right. Jason's gone. I guess all we can do now is live with it."
Nikolas: "I won't pretend I liked Jason. Ok? But after Lucky, you shouldn't have had to lose anyone again."
III. It's All My Fault (1/20)
Elizabeth: "Sort of amazed you're still speaking to me. I wasn't sure you'd accept these."
Sonny: "What's all this?"
Elizabeth: "Just some brownies made."
Sonny: "Yeah? Why wouldn't I be speaking to you?"
Elizabeth: "Because it's my fault Jason's gone."
Elizabeth: "Oh, I--I didn't mean that the way it sounded. It's not like the world revolves around me. But I'm pretty sure that I was a factor, and that makes me feel really awful."
Sonny: "Well, what did you do exactly to make him leave?"
Elizabeth: "Basically, I think I hung on too tight."
Sonny: "Do I strike you as the kind of guy who would say things to make people happy?"
Elizabeth: "Do you think he's going to be ok?"
Sonny: "Ok as in safe, or ok as in happy?"
Elizabeth: "Both, I guess."
Sonny: "Safe, yeah. I mean, Jason, he's smart. He knows how to disappear. Happy? You know, that's a coin toss like it is for everybody else."
Sonny: "Now you see it, now you don't. That's what life's about. People come, people go. Sometimes it's hard. You just got to roll with it."
Elizabeth: "Especially when the ones who leave you are the ones you need the most."
Sonny: "You know, I'm just a phone call away if you ever need anything. If you want to bake me some more brownies, you know?"
Sonny: "If you ever need a home-cooked meal, I mean, I--come on by, you know? I'm a good cook."
Elizabeth: "I may just take you up on that."
Sonny: "Your taste buds will thank you because I'm a master."
Amy: "I see that Elizabeth's going to show up at Sonny's today and apologize for being the reason Jason left. I hate that for several reasons: 1) It means that she (or the writers) are putting her little 3 weeks of scenes with Jason on par with those of Sonny and Carly, or feels that way. 2) The arrogance of her! The little brat. Oh, and #3 is the big one: This repeats the same scene she had with Sonny after Lucky died, when she told him that it was her fault and he shouldn't blame himself. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Taggert: "I just found out about Jason Morgan leaving town."
Elizabeth: "So, why aren't you ordering champagne?"
Taggert: "Well, I might be if you were serving it. On the other hand, I'm not a total jerk. You and Morgan were buddies and you've had enough good-byes."
Elizabeth: "You're right. You're not a total jerk."
Taggert: "Well, maybe you should reserve your judgment until you hear me out. I stopped by Sonny's earlier today. Apparently you'd been there before me."
Elizabeth: "How did you know that?"
Taggert: "Your brownies."
Elizabeth: "So? A lot of people make brownies."
Taggert: "Not associates of Sonny's. They make bombs."
IV. Liz and Laura (1/24)
Elizabeth: "Nobody knows. It's kind of complicated, but he's not coming back. I guess you probably think that's a good thing, huh?"
Laura: "I didn't say that."
Elizabeth: "You know, Jason's not the kind of person I thought he was. What am I saying? I didn't even know Jason until a few months ago. But Lucky always liked him. I don't get this. I mean, I'm feeling ok, and then, all of a sudden--"
Laura: "Everything reminds you of Lucky?"
Elizabeth: "Yeah."
Laura: "That happens to me all the time."
Laura: "I never realized how many people Lucky brought together."
Elizabeth: "He was kind of the center. And then when he died--"
Laura: "We all kind of lost each other."
Elizabeth: "For a little while."
Laura: "I'm a lot stronger now."
Elizabeth: "I wish I was."
Laura: "You don't have to be for me, you know."
Elizabeth: "Do you ever think about bung one of those motorcycles, one of those great big, fast ones you can hear for miles?"
Laura: "Oh, yeah, right. Can't you just see me?"
Elizabeth: "Oh, clear the streets."
Laura: "Oh. Evacuate."
Elizabeth: "We should do that sometime."
Laura: "Oh. Oh. I tell you what. You know, the next time you hit a night like that, call me."
Elizabeth: "I will if you will."
Laura: "It's a deal."
Elizabeth: "Ok."
Laura's in grey and Liz in powder blue. I really enjoyed these scenes, but I could not believe that the writers passed up the chance to have Laura say that she had ridden a motorcycle before and pause, wistfully. (She and Luke rode one on their way out of Fair Oaks during the Left-Handed Boy adventure.)
V. Back to the Scene of the Crime (1/25)
Elizabeth: "And they were after Jason, not me, and now Jason's gone."
Emily: "So you basically don't think you're in danger anymore."
Elizabeth: "Only from gram. She's still upset that I moved out of the house."
Juan: "Well, at least she doesn't carry handcuffs like my roommate."
Emily: "I thought it bothered you."
Elizabeth: "It used to--only because it made me--it reminded me of being with Lucky. But you know what? I'm past that, and I am just so happy for you now."
Elizabeth: "Wow. I didn't know you guys were at that stage."
Emily: "Honestly, I don't really know what stage we're at right now. All I know is that I want to be with Juan alone without having half of Port Charles watching me every single minute. You know what's really amazing? When I kiss him, it is so intense, and I just don't want him to stop."
Elizabeth: "I know what that's like."
Emily: "Did you ever, like, regret you and Lucky not--"
Elizabeth: "Not making love? Well, I guess--I guess if I had known that he and I weren't going to have a future, then, yeah, I wish we hadn't waited."
Emily: "That's exactly how I feel. I mean, it feels like someone's always threatening to take Juan away from me. And if he's going to leave, Elizabeth, I don't want to wait."
Elizabeth: "You know what? Just make sure that it feels really right and that the both of you are ready. I don't want to sound like your mother or anything, but you and Juan can afford to wait."
Emily: "Oh, and by the way, you don't sound like my mother. You just sound like my best friend."
Tammy: "So, how is it being back at the studio?"
Elizabeth: "A little empty."
Tammy: "You and Jason got pretty close, didn't you?"
Elizabeth: "I could tell him anything or not say a word. He just got me, you know?"
Tammy: "Yeah, I know. Those are the best kind of friends. But I have to be honest with you. You're much safer without him."
Elizabeth: "Well, it doesn't really feel like that. People are in danger all the time, from crossing the streets to car accidents. You can't make your world perfectly safe. The point is to enjoy just being alive, and Jason made that easy. He didn't pretend the bad wasn't there. He knew what it was like to hurt, and he understood when I did. But he just kept going, you know? And he found the things that felt good, and--and that was worth the risk to me. That was worth almost anything."
Tammy: "Well, I know that you may not see it right now, but Jason actually did you a favor by taking the choice out of your hands and going away. He made you safe, Elizabeth. Trust me. I got to tell you, he really--he did right by you."
Sorel: "Miss Webber--beautiful day, isn't it? Would you like to take a walk?"
VI. Tammy Fends Off Sorel (1/26)
Tammy: "You get out of here right now or I start swinging."
Sorel: "You think I'm afraid of a two-bit hooker? Go back inside before I have someone teach you a lesson."
Tammy: "You touch her again and you'll pay. That girl happens to be very important to Sonny Corinthos, and he will come down on you like the wrath of god."
Elizabeth: "Are you ok?"
Tammy: "I got--no. I can't believe I did that."
Elizabeth: "Oh, my god."
Tammy: "And I'm not ok, all right? And neither are you."
Tammy: "Sorel will be back. He thinks you know where Jason is, and he won't stop until you tell him."
Elizabeth: "I don't understand. Shouldn't he just be happy that Jason's gone?"
Tammy: "He wants to make sure Jason does not come back. Elizabeth, sit down, honey. Listen, Jason's like an insurance policy for Sonny. And as long as he's out there, Sonny has backup. And if anybody comes--anybody comes along and hurts him, Jason comes right back here and he hurts them. This is the kind of world that Jason lives in. Elizabeth, this is the kind of world that Jason was trying to protect you from. Only obviously, it didn't work."
Elizabeth: "Do you think Sorel might try something?"
Tammy: "Think? No, I don't think. I know. I have seen that man at his worst."
Elizabeth: "When?"
Tammy: "When Moreno was running the streets. He sent Sorel out to cover the working girls. He wanted a bigger cut of our take. He didn't care what he had to do to get it. So he sent a pimp out, you know, to look me up, and the man nearly beat me to death."
Elizabeth: "Tammy, I am so sorry."
Tammy: "No, it's not something you should have to know about. It's not something you should have to think about."
Elizabeth: "But you stood up to him today for me."
Tammy: "You need more protection than I can give you. You need to go to Sonny right away."
Nikolas: "Is this a private conversation, or can anyone join?"
Elizabeth: "Oh, well, I didn't mean to scare you, but you know Nikolas asked about our conversation. I had to tell him something other than the truth. Nikolas would want to protect me, and if he knew about Sorel, it'd just make things so much worse."
Tammy: "Well, you're right about that. The only person that can save you right now or help you or anything in this situation is Sonny."
