The Spencers:
- Luke and Felicia come home after seeing Lucky. Luke is optimistic about getting
his son back. They say their goodbyes, because Felicia knows that Mac will be
angry with her and will ask her not to see Luke anymore. (3/2)
- After she's gone, Alexis comes by, looking for Roy. She fills him in on Helena's
attempt on her life, and then Luke heads home. (3/2)
- Now that he is certain that Lucky is alive, Luke tells Laura the news. (3/2)
- Luke repeats the news for Laura and then for Nikolas, and asks Nikolas to
help if he can by getting information from Stefan. Laura, in turn, asks them both
to leave before Stefan arrives. She faces him herself, confronts him with his
lies, and slaps him. (3/3)
- Luke, meanwhile, goes back to the club. He gets a strange phone call: nobody
seems to be on the line. He doesn't know that it's Helena, offering Lucky the
chance to talk to his father. (3/3)
- When the line goes dead and he still hasn't heard anybody on the line, Luke
tries to return the call by punching *69, but the number is out of reach. Roy
arrives, and Luke tells him that Lucky's alive. (3/6)
- Laura berates Stefan for lying to her. And while she sees that he could have
been keeping the secret to protect her, she tells him that she can't trust him.
(3/6)
- After Stefan leaves, Laura goes to Luke at the club. (3/6)
- Laura tells Luke that she can't trust Stefan. When Mac arrives, angry with
Luke, Laura asks him to help them find their son, and he hesitantly agrees. He's
not convinced that Lucky's alive; he thinks it could be a lie from Luke and Felicia
to cover or excuse their affair. Laura, however, believed her husband; she told
Luke that she would go with him this time when he searched for their son. (3/7)
- Luke arranges for Roy to watch the club while he's gone. When Bobbie tells
him what was going on with Mac and Felicia, Luke feels bad about it; he tells
her that he's going after Lucky with Laura, and she approves. Mac calls him in
to the PCPD to talk about a lead on Lucky. While at the police station, Luke comes
face to face with Stefan. (3/9)
- Meanwhile, Laura tells Lesley that she's going to look for Lucky with Luke.
When Elizabeth comes by, they talk about her trouble dealing with Lucky being
alive. By the time Luke checks in, Laura's already packed. They'll start with
Helena's yacht, which the police have located in New York City. Luke says he'll
be back soon and they'll head off. (3/9)
- Luke checks in with Roy and speaks to Elizabeth. He then says goodbye to Felicia,
and he and Laura leave town to search for Lucky. (3/10)
- In NYC, Luke and Laura take a minute to settle into their room. Things are
going well until Laura finds Hiram and Orphey's passports. They put it aside and
start their search, looking on Helena's yacht for clues. They find a model of
another ship, and finally realize that it's their old yacht, the Haunted Star,
once owned by the Cassadines under the name the Titan. (3/14)
- They track down the man to whom they sold the boat years ago, and he is able
to give them its current information. (3/16)
- On board their old yacht, Luke and Laura find a map that Lucky has written
and left behind, pointing the way to the boxcar from their house. (3/17)
- When Stefan shows up offering to help, Luke holds a gun on him and then locks
him in a closet. When Laura comes back into the room to retrieve her purse, Stefan
tries to persuade her to let him out, but she turns to leave just as Luke enters
and asks her what she's going to do about Stefan. They leave together, but Laura
tells Stefan that she'll call for help once they're safely away. (3/20)
- While Helena tells Lucky about Mikkos and the weather machine, Luke and Laura
wrangle information out of the ticket agent at the airport. Later, Luke tries
to convince a pilot to take them back to the place where they dropped Helena off.
When they get suspicious, Laura enters, posing as an inspector, and gets him off
the plane. They get on another flight and head after their son. (3/22)
- On the Cassadine Island, Luke and Laura talk about the differences between
them in the years before the Cassadines returned to Port Charles. They're startled
by the sound of somebody approaching, but when they jump the person, they find
that it's Felicia. (3/24)
- Felicia warns Luke and Laura that Helena may be setting a trap for them. She's
sticking around, so they head down into the compound. Helena and Lucky are gone
by the time they get there. As Laura grows more irritated with Felicia's behavior,
she steps outside Mikkos's study to get away. As she leaves, the door closes and
Luke and Felicia are trapped inside. (3/27)
- Stefan arrives and tells Laura that he can open the door. He will, if she'll
come with him to search for Lucky. She turns him down, but can't believe that
he leaves them there to die. She goes above ground to wait for the coast guard,
and Luke and Felicia find a way out via the air ducts. Luke embraces Laura as
Felicia looks on, and they head off on their way again, Felicia in tow. (3/29)
- Now in Texas, Laura and Luke share a moment together, but Felicia interrupts
them. Later, Laura asks Felicia to go home to her husband, and when Felicia refuses,
they fight. Laura asks Luke what he thinks, and he says he's not uncomfortable
with her being there. Laura storms off, angry. Later, looking for Lucky, they
split up. Felicia sees the matchbook that Lucky has left, but can't reach it.
When she leans over the edge of the cliff to try, she falls. Laura finds her hanging
over the edge. (3/31)
I. Luke and Felicia Say Goodbye (3/2)
Felicia: "Luke, there's nothing we could do. The van took him away."
Luke: "I can't believe I just stood there and let them whisk my kid away from
me."
Felicia: "We tried to follow the van. It was just too fast."
Luke: "He was standing right there in front of me--right there."
Felicia: "Yes, but he was standing and on his own two feet. Hold on to that."
Luke: "God. When I tell his mother that our kid is alive--"
Luke stared off into space at the thought of telling Laura the Lucky was alive,
but he didn't finish his thought. I don't think that was a conscious choice for
Felicia's sake, I think that Luke can't really see past the thought of getting
Lucky back alive and safe and sound from the Cassadines. As this played out, we'd
see Laura becoming more and more aware of the future she wanted, while Luke would
definitely not see the same thing.
Meanwhile, this month was full of parents fighting for their children: Mac
and Felicia, Luke and Laura, AJ, Sonny and Carly, Mike, etc. Maybe that's why
I thought Stefan's quest for Lucky appeared so self-motivated.
Felicia: "Lucky didn't look defeated at all."
Luke: "No, he didn't. He's a survivor. He's always been."
Luke: "I'm going to find out where he has him, and I'm going to bring him
home. Now that I know he's alive, it doesn't have to be a secret anymore."
Felicia: "And you can tell Laura."
Luke: "Yeah. And you can tell Mac. That's what you want to do, right?"
Felicia: "You think I'm stalling?"
Luke: "I didn't say that."
Felicia: "I miss my family."
Luke: "I know."
Felicia: "It's Georgie's birthday today. Mac will be very hurt. But I think he'll
be fine because I can explain things to him, and he'll totally understand, I think."
Luke: "Good."
Felicia: "He'll ask me not to see you anymore. Do you ever wish that you could
just live a double life?"
Luke: "Yeah."
Felicia: "Yeah?"
Luke: "One as me and one as a belly dancer in Tehran."
Felicia: "Yeah, something that's homey and safe and secure--"
Luke: "And something that's completely risky and wild."
Felicia: "And totally unpredictable."
Luke: "On the edge."
Felicia: "Yeah. Is that something that you're allowed to do or not?"
Luke: "They say not. Regrets?"
Felicia: "Only that it's just over. Not the Lucky being hostage part."
Luke: "Oh, no, no. I know. I know. You mean the other part, the--well, we'll always
have Nova Scotia."
Felicia: "You are just so--"
Luke: "So are you."
Felicia: "Maybe that's why we--"
Luke: "Probably."
Felicia: "And I'll hang on to it for as long as I live."
Luke: "Felicia?"
Luke: "I'll hang on to it, too. Always."
As they talked, Luke poured himself a drink--water, this time. He sits on
the desk as Felicia convinces herself that Mac will forgive her. In spite of thoughts
of Mac, she was all smiles and giggles, until she thought of it being over with
Luke. Luke stopped her, kissed her hard, and was shaking by the time he let go.
She was upset and left quickly, leaving him stunned.
II. Luke and Alexis Say Hello (3/2)
Alexis was stunned as well when she cruised into the office expecting Roy
and found Luke there instead. She was gorgeous in light grey to his black. They
finally sat down as their talk turned serious.
Luke: "You're surprised to stumble upon me in my own office?"
Alexis: "I--I thought you were out of town."
Luke: "So, you only visit when I'm gone?"
Luke: "You need to relax. Would you like a rub down? Come on, tell an old
co-conspirator what's up, Natasha."
Alexis: "Helena tried to kill me."
Luke: "I see no slash marks across your pretty neck. In fact, you show no signs
of wear and tear at all."
Alexis: "Well, my friend does--Chloe Morgan. In the hospital. She mistook her
for me."
Luke: "Because the two of you are twins?"
I have to admit, that cracked me up, since Chloe looked nothing like Alexis
when Helena ran her down. I was also amused by the line where Luke said Stefan's
name first the way he always says it, then a second time with the correct pronunciation,
as if that's what had her confused.
Alexis: "I don't think anything she does surprises him."
Luke: "So Count Baklava is hard to shock?"
Alexis: "By now, he'd have to be. It's great to see you."
Luke: "And it's great seeing you, but don't worry about my sensitive feelings."
Alexis: "I don't."
Luke: "Oh."
Oh, I was hoping beyond hope that these two would get it together in the search
for Lucky or the task of nailing Helena. I would have loved to see Alexis concerned
so much with the truth about Lucky or with putting Helena in prison for it that
she would spread herself thin between Stefan on the one hand and Luke on the other--not
to mention Ned's sure-to-be-grumpy reaction. What fun that would be!
Terry: "Today was rich, and even had a divine Luke/Alexis scene. I
love Nancy Lee Grahn. She looks so fabulous in those long jackets. She can nail
a line. She plays a smart, brave, fun woman. And she does flustered so
well. She and Luke were to die for. Loved it."
Amy: "But all we get is a token scene between them every once an again.
They're better when they see each other more often and get in that groove. Though
I adore them together, as you know, and while they do exposition together better
than anybody else, scenes like this don't thrill me, because they're not developing
into anything."
I would be happier about Luke's later offer to work together against Helena,
once Lucky was back in town. I'd kind of like to see Alexis straddling the chasm
between Stefan and Luke, and putting the truth about Lucky and the downfall of
Helena before either of them.
Claude: "Hey, boss, am I ever glad to see you."
Luke: "Yeah, but you don't see me. I'm a figment. I'm a fantasy from your fevered
brain. I'm a vision with a place to be. Later."
I love Claude. *G*
