The Spencers (cont.):
II. Feels Like Old Times (7/7)
Bobbie: "Oh, hi, Laura. I wanted to give you a number in case Luke calls."
Laura: "You think he will?"
Bobbie: "Well, with my brother, you never know."
Laura:
"So, where are you and Roy going?"
Bobbie: "I can't even say the word without getting this big, stupid grin on my
face."
Laura: "Stupid grins are good."
Bobbie: "Hawaii."
Laura: "Hawaii. Oh. Your honeymoon."
Bobbie: "God, you remember that?"
Laura: "Oh, yes. That's all you talked about. You went around talking about it
constantly--that and how wonderful Roy was."
Bobbie: "Yeah, well, consider me walking proof that the more things change, the
more they stay the same."
Scott:
"Two of my favorite girls for the price of one."
Bobbie: "You holding up ok?"
Scott: "Oh, bad news travels fast in these parts, huh?"
Bobbie: "Yeah, well, I heard you broke up with Lucy. I'm sorry."
Scott: "Well, tough times right now."
Laura: "Well, I really appreciate you showing up so quickly, especially since
you're obviously going through your own stuff right now. You should have told
me something."
Scott: "What was I going to say?"
Laura: "I don't know. You could have told me to go away, you were nursing a broken
heart. I certainly know what that's like. I wouldn't have intruded."
Scott: "Nah, I would never say something like that. Besides, I think a distraction
is good."
Laura:
"You know what? I think maybe this is wrong. We shouldn't do this. Sorry."
Scott: "No, come on, come on. I'm here. You're here. Let's talk."
Laura: "Ok. Well, I guess you know that Luke was accused of Stefan's murder?"
Scott: "Yeah, I heard something about that. I also heard that he's--he's on the
run."
Laura: "He needs a lawyer, Scotty. Would you consider representing him?"
Scott: "Well, Laura, I wouldn't want to be the one that sends Luke to Sing
Sing. You know, I'm not exactly at the top of my game."
Laura: "Oh, you mean because of Lucy?"
Scott: "Yeah. I'm about to lose another marriage here, and it's tough. It's tough,
you know? You just--supposed to just walk away?"
Laura: "I know. I really do."
Scott: "By the way, happy anniversary."
Laura: "Oh, my gosh. I didn't think you remembered that."
Scott: "How could I forget, you know? Two kids in the park with a crowd of people--well-meaning
crowd--"
Laura: "Mm-hmm."
Scott: "Saying, 'What are you doing? You're making a mistake.'"
Laura: "Yeah. 'You're too young to know how you really feel.'"
Scott: "Yeah. 'What do you want, a ball and chain at your age?'"
Laura: "Oh, stop it. You know what? I don't regret it. I really don't. Despite
how it turned out."
Scott: "I'm glad you said that. Because I got to tell you, being young and in
love and married to you--that was the best time of my life."
Scott: "You know, how--how young were we to think that things would never
change? Of course--"
Laura: "Yeah."
Scott: "I'm very happy that I met Dominique and I married her. I got Serena. And
then Lucy. Lucy drives me crazy, though."
Laura: "Oh, that may be a sign that it's not really over between the two of you."
Scott: "I hope not. But, you know, she's blaming me for our daughter being kidnapped.
And I mean, that's--she's not making any sense. I mean, she's not acting out of
anything that's--that's local anymore. She's--kind of seems to me like she's losing
her mind."
Laura: "Yeah, but people say and do crazy things when they're grieving. You know,
the night that we thought that lucky died in the fire, Luke found me because he
wanted to be the one to tell me, and he was wonderful. He was so strong, and he
held me, and I cried. And later on that night when we were at the morgue, I flipped
out and I slapped him and I blamed him for our son dying. I would give anything
to take that back now. All I'm saying is don't hold everything that Lucy's saying
against her."
Scott: "I'm trying not to. It's just that she said some really horrible things,
that's all."
Laura: "I really am sorry."
Scott: "Yeah. Me, too."
Scott: "Listen, Laura, look around, ok? If you can't find anybody, call me
again."
