Letter from the Editor
by Amy McWilliams

Welcome to the General Hospital Review!

This fall just doesn't get easier. In fact, my grading seems to compound exponentially the longer the semester lasts. But here we are, finally, with the November issue, and I wanted to take a minute to let you know what's happening the next couple of months. Because of the way things have run late this fall, I won't be able to catch up any ground immediately. December's issue will run late--about this same time--and then January should be closer to that ellusive first week of the month. Also, this month's review only covers two weeks of episodes. We'll try to be back with a full four weeks (and hopefully more) in December, but I've had to start thinking about ways to shorthand things so that I can regain some of the ground I've lost. As always, we thank you for your patience. This is an amateur undertaking, and as much as we love doing it, life intervenes at times.

But here we are, with Thanksgiving upon us, and we have some good stuff for you this month. Along with "GH in Review," we've got a light-hearted character study from Judy, a couple of "Quick Takes," and the regular downloads in "Say Cheese" (including a ad that's just in time for Thanksgiving). Add to that our reader poll, and we hope you'll find some things to occupy your time when you have a break from the turkey and dressing.

Oh, and did I forget to mention? "GH in Review" now has photos! You'll find screencaptures from each episode scattered throughout the review. Enjoy!

GH in Review
by Amy McWilliams

This month's review covers the the first two week of July on GH. The transcript page is missing an episode here or there, but our discussion and the outline of events should fill in the gaps. Meanwhile, I'm still not adding in any of my own commentary, other than the editors' discussions; I haven't abandoned it completely, I'm just to find ways to catch up that don't involve skipping months altogether.

As always, thanks go to the GH Transcripts Page. I depend on it as well as the daily updates from the official ABC website and r.a.t.s.a. Thanks also to everybody on the GH side of the Usenet newsgroup rec.arts.tv.soaps.abc for their discussion of the show, and to the other editors, whose discussion always informs my own opinions and makes the show so much more fun to watch.

A Study in Character: "Z" is for Zander
by Judy Ellison

This time, Judy turns her hand to character study, but with a different approach. See what she's come up with as she ponders the origins of the name "Zander."

Quick Takes

Judy's back with a note about her usual column, "What's Cookin' on the Backburner," while Joan chimes in with a view on Sonny and Carly's ottoman.

Featured Websites

Our first featured page this month is a general site I hadn't seen before. "Eye on General Hospital" provides scoops and spoilers, lots of commentary (daily, weekly, rants, etc.--we're encouraged to see that somebody can keep up!), fan fiction, quizzes, votes, and more. The navigation is easy, and each item is marked with the date it was last updated. The site covers other soaps as well.

Next, here's another official site. This one's for the "Official Real Andrews Fan Club." Real plays Taggert on GH, and his site offers photos and other information. You can also bid on studio tours (and other things), when available, and buy Real merchandise.

And, finally, here's a little extra something from our pals, T'n'T. They have several GH sites, but this one, "WVPC Radio," offers sound captures of musical numbers from nurses balls and more--including Mary Mae and the Pips and Pierce Dorman's "Que Sera, Sera." You gotta love it.

As always, if you would like to recommend a site for recognition in a future issue, you can do so at the feedback form.
