The Scorpios (cont.):
I. Mac's Still Determined (7/19)
Mac: "What about the Spencer case?"
Dara: "Well, I haven't put that on the dockets. I mean, as long as he's a fugitive,
I think we have to just keep postponing."
Mac: "Keep building the case, Dara. Look, if we have to postpone, we'll do it,
but I don't foresee a problem."
Mac: "If you don't feel up to this, Dara--"
Dara: "I don't think he's guilty, Mac."
Mac: "Then we have a problem."
Dara: "You know what? If I go into court with what we have right now, I can
hear it coming--corpus delicti, which I cannot defend. We're not even sure that
Stefan is even dead. So until y can actually prove that something happened, I
think--"
Mac: "You need more evidence? You need more evidence, Dara? I'll get you more
evidence. But I want this put on the calendar. The second Spencer is in custody,
I'd like to take this to trial. I have work to do."
Dara: "Everybody needs a vacation, Mac. It helps to put things in perspective."
Mac:
"Spencer case. Look, we have enough to go to trial, but I need corroborating evidence
linking Spencer to the vial of poison and putting him with Cassadine. I want you
to find it, Taggert. I don't care where you have to look or who you have to shake."
Taggert: "I will look until I am blind, sir, but I am not going to manufacture
evidence."
Taggert:
"You say Spencer killed Cassadine. Go prove it. I say there are multiple suspects
out there, starting with Helena Cassadine. Now, if we limit ourselves to Luke
Spencer, sir, we could be overlooking evidence that could disappear in the meantime."
Mac: "Luke Spencer is guilty, Taggert. And I'm going to make the case against
him if I have to find the evidence myself. Now, do I have your cooperation or
would you prefer foot patrol, say, down on Courtland Street?"
