Sonny and Carly (cont.):
I. Jealousy Begins to Run Amok (7/17)
Carly: "Stop packing. We're not going anywhere."
Leticia: "Didn't you find Mr. Corinthos?"
Carly: "Yeah, I found him with his arms around Elizabeth Webber. I could take
lessons from that girl when it comes to manipulation. She's a master."
Johnny: "Mr. Corinthos sent me."
Carly: "Oh, this ought to be good."
Carly:
"Ok. Money that comes from Jason or the trust fund is about caring. It's personal.
Money that comes from Sonny is about charity, obligation."
Johnny: "I can see this is something you need to discuss with Mr. Corinthos."
Carly: "There's no discussion. Just give him my message."
Leticia: "I just thought Mr. Corinthos was trying to do something nice."
Carly: "You've got to be kidding me. It's a payoff, Leticia. It's a payoff so
he doesn't have to feel guilty. I lost the baby. He has no use for me. Much rather
wrap himself around little miss goody two-shoes."
Leticia: "Mr. Corinthos is too old for Elizabeth Webber."
Carly: "Don't tell him that if you want to keep your job."
Leticia: "Well, I wouldn't dream of telling him any of this, actually."
Sonny's voice: "Caroline Benson, will you marry me? I promise to honor and
protect you, to love our children, and never leave you, so help me god."
Amy: "I know that Sonny was talking primarily about Brenda here. I
did think, however, in some of his lines later in the scene that he was also thinking
of Carly--the letting go, etc. I think that Carly decided to leave not only because
of herself, but because she thought she was doing something good for Sonny. And
I think Sonny let her because he thought he needed to let her do what she wanted
to do because of the baby, etc. Neither are confident enough of the other--or
of what they want for themselves--to ask to stay. And the fact that he then thought
of this proposal, and not of Brenda, seems to bear me out. *G*
