Roy and Bobbie
Roy and Bobbie:
- Bobbie's still shaken because of her brother's arrest and Roy's involvement,
and she asks him to be careful. He tells her that he won't change, that he'll
keep on taking care of things, but that she doesn't have to try so hard to hold
on to him when he's not going anywhere. Bobbie phones Alexis; she wants to find
Luke a lawyer before he gets to town. (9/19)
- After some of the mess with Luke dies down, Bobbie talks to Roy about their
relationship. They agree to honesty, but Roy says he may never break his old habits.
Roy then gets a visit from his old FBI boss, who gives him some bad news about
a kid Roy once helped put in prison. Meanwhile, Bobbie argues with Tony over Lucas
spending time with Roy, but promises Lucas that they'll all spend some time together
and that Roy is not angry with him. (9/26)
- Roy is upset over the news of Leo's death, and tells Bobbie the story. (9/27)
I. I Only Nag Because I Love You (9/19)
Roy: "What's worse than Luke being in custody?"
Bobbie: "You could be with him."
Bobbie: "No, I'm not angry. I'm scared. I want you to promise me to stop
taking all of these crazy chances."
Roy:
"So who are you trying to turn me into?"
Bobbie: "I love you for who you are. I'm just--"
Roy: "Some bean counter, maybe, with pocket protectors who's afraid to take a
breath till he figures the odds? Because if that's what you want, you know--"
Bobbie: "I want you safe."
Roy: "But nobody is safe in this life."
Bobbie: "Well, you don't have to borrow trouble. You've already had more than
your share."
Roy: "So, 'Sorry, Luke, I've had more than my quota of trouble.' Is that what
I should have said?"
Bobbie: "No, no. Look, I love the fact of what you did for my brother, but from
now on, would you just please keep it legal? Because I couldn't bear to lose you
again."
Roy: "But there are a lot of ways to lose somebody."
Bobbie: "You mean by demanding too much?"
Roy: "You ever look in the eyes of someone you love and see a stranger staring
back? It's scary."
Bobbie: "Is that what you see now?"
Roy: "You wouldn't know me if I turned into the kind of guy who only covered his
own back."
Bobbie: "I'm not asking you to change completely."
Roy: "Well, that's good, because I would hate myself. I really would. I wouldn't
be able to stand myself if I started letting fear run my life, whether it's your
fear or mine, you know?"
Bobbie: "So there's no room for caution?"
Roy: "Well, it's just you got to trust me a little bit, trust my instincts, trust
that I know how to take care of myself."
Bobbie: "Oh, well, I've heard that before from my brother."
Roy: "Mm-hmm. Well, you'll notice your brother got picked up in London and I did
not."
Bobbie: "Mm-hmm. So you're better at high-risk maneuvers. Do you plan on repeating
them over and over again?"
Roy: "I'm not saying that."
Bobbie: "Good! Ok, well, that's exactly what I wanted to hear."
Roy: "But when a problem comes up that I know I can handle, I'm not going to head
for the hills."
Bobbie: "Unless they're studded with land mines and there's this enemy army standing
at the top."
Roy: "Plus, hopefully, a dragon."
Roy: "When's the last time you saw a dragon in Port Charles?"
Bobbie: "Last time Mac grilled me about Luke."
Roy: "So it's the sister of the victim representing the defendant. That
works for you?"
Bobbie: "Well, better than the defendant being involved with the commissioner's
wife."
Bobbie: "Felicia's in Colorado with her husband."
Roy: "Luke will be sorry to hear it."
Bobbie: "Luke has other things to deal with."
Roy: "Still, I remember the feeling."
Bobbie: "I'm not trying to drive you away. I'm trying to hang on to you."
Roy: "I know. But you don't have to try so hard, baby, because I'm not going to
let go."
