| II. AJ Invites Hannah on Vacation (9/12)
Hannah: "I accept your apology. But your problem is not with me. It's with
your family."
A.J.: "Say yes, and you and I are on the next plane to the Bahamas. And
I promise, on our friendship, not a drop of liquor while we're there. Deal?"
Hannah: "And what is this about a deal where you won't drink as long as
I agree to do whatever you want?"
A.J.: "It's win-win."
Hannah: "A.J., you need to decide to take care of yourself because it's the right
thing to do for you, because you realize that you are a good person, not as a
way to get me to do something."
A.J.: "You want to do this. I'm just giving you a good excuse. Admit it. You and
me on the beach, making love all day--"
Hannah: "Ok, you know what? This conversation is finished."
A.J.: "You're in denial, Hannah."
Hannah: "No, A.J., that would be you. I'm very clear on the situation. You and
I are friends and nothing more. And, you know, we're not even going to be that
if--"
A.J.: "It's my brother, isn't it? Somebody killed him."
III. Taggert's Mother Comes to Town (9/14, 9/15)
Woman: "You came."
Taggert: "It's one hell of a surprise, mom."
In the category of "where the heck were my eyes," I'm including these captures
for those of you out there who noticed the guy Arda and I missed completely. You're
right; he's cute! The guy we noticed came later in the same scene:
Amy: "So was the 'new detective' the GHR got 3-4 emails about
actually Garcia? I still don't remember anybody but the new guy Taggert was talking
at, and he didn't seem very attractive. I'm going to have to go back and look
for this poor new guy that I never even noticed!"
Arda: "I remember a scene where there was a new detective, but I didn't
pay close attention as I imagined he was an extra for the day. I'm almost positive
it wasn't the person who played Garcia. I remember the 'new detective' as looking
vaguely Asian. And I don't recall him being noticeably attractive."
On the next day:
Taggert: "I--I hope you know that I was never ungrateful. I had to live
my own life, and I didn't realize how far it took me from home. But I always loved
you. Always."
A.J.: "I called the station. They said you were here, but they didn't give
me any details. I thought--I don't know. I thought maybe you were hurt or, you
know, that a bust had gone wrong or something."
Hannah:
"I'm with Taggert. His mother had a heart attack."
A.J.: "Well, I didn't even know he had a mother."
Taggert: "You don't have to stay."
Hannah: "I wouldn't be anywhere else."
Taggert: "I don't mind you asking. My mother, she married down to be with
my father. He was a good man. He was a steelworker. But that wasn't the life that
she wanted for me, and the only thing she wanted less was for me to be a cop."
Hannah: "What was her alternative?"
Taggert:
"For me to wear a tie. And I'm not talking about one of my stakeout specials.
Yeah, she wanted me to be a lawyer or a C.E.O. but i had other plans. And when
my dreams didn't meet hers, I left. After all this time, we still have this conflict
between us. I don't even know why she's here or why she got it in her head to
visit."
Juan: "Can I do anything? Call somebody?"
Taggert: "You're here. That's enough."
Juan: "Whoa--hey. Listen, there's a cop over there, and since you're allergic,
you might want to leave."
Gia: "Mind your own business."
Taggert: "Gia."
Gia: "How's mom? Is she going to be all right?"
