I. Hannah Picks AJ Up Off the Floor (9/6)
A.J.: "Can I have a drink?"
Jake: "No. In case you didn't notice, it's morning."
Taggert: "Why are you doing this? It's obvious A.J.'s just trying to get
your attention."
Hannah: "I'm not blind to that. But that doesn't change the fact that he's in
a lot of pain."
Taggert: "You know, that's starting to sound more and more like an excuse. I mean,
if you have something for the guy, why don't you just tell me?"
Hannah: "I'm not choosing A.J. Over you. You're the man I want. You're the man
I want to be with. But A.J. is suffering from alcoholism. That's a disease. He
can't help himself."
Taggert: "You can't either."
Hannah: "I wouldn't like myself if I just left him over there at Jake's. Please.
This will only take a few minutes. I'll be right back before you know it, and
then we can have our day, just like we planned."
Taggert: "I'll pass. I'm not going to be waiting for A.J. I'm going to pick up
a couple more hours at work, you know. We'll do this gorge thing another day."
Hannah:
"A.J., I want you to take five seconds to stop and look where last night got you.
Do you like yourself this morning? Did you enjoy waking up on a barroom floor?"
A.J.: "I like the fact that you cared enough to come and get me."
A.J.: "What is this? How dare you set me up to be ambushed by my family."
Hannah: "A.J., you set yourself up when you got so wasted that you ended
up on a barroom floor. I called your mother because she cares."
A.J.: "I don't need my mother's care, or yours, for that matter. I like my life
just fine."
A.J.:
"I don't give a damn about my brother. And I won't run my life around him like
the rest of you."
Monica: "That is precisely what you are doing. Last night was nothing more than
you lashing out because Jason is back!"
Monica: "No, Hannah, listen, I'm glad you called, and I--I am, I am very
worried about A.J. Jason's coming back has just pushed all the old buttons. And
he is walking a very thin line as it is. I thought he'd hit the worst of it when
Carly took her fall, but right now I have no idea what he's going to do."
