General Hospital Review
II. The Lady or the Tiger (9/1)

Sonny: "You have the face of an angel."
Alexis: "All right, that's it. Now my rates just went up 5%."

Alexis: "My client has no comment."
Sonny: "That's right. That's what I pay her for."

Taggert: "Would you tell your client that we finally got his butt?"
Alexis: "My client is innocent."
Taggert: "Yeah, I almost believe you except for all the times he was guilty and he got off."

Alexis: "For the record, the taxpayers aren't my concern. Most of them probably can't afford me. And between us, no deal."

Sonny: "You know what? I got to tell you something. I love to watch you work."

Alexis: "We could still send Carly out of the country."
Sonny: "So she can come back and get arrested at the airport? We went through this. She's not going to stay gone for good."
Alexis: "It's worth another look, considering the new developments."

Sonny: "Well, that's assuming that Jason and Carly want to go away together."
Alexis: "Well, you need to persuade them. You need to make it happen."
Sonny: "I'll think about it."
Alexis: "This way Carly gets everything that she wants, and Jason will do anything that you ask--"
Sonny: "I said I will think about--"
Alexis: "Then think fast, Sonny, because unfortunately it's a very short list. These are your choices--either Jason takes Carly out of the country or you marry her."

Sonny: "You like being with Jason, don't you?"
Carly: "More than anything."

Carly: "Jason, Michael, and I, we were almost a family before, so we'll be one again."
Sonny: "You and Jason getting together?"
Carly: "It seems like the perfect solution for everyone."
Sonny: "Have you mentioned it to Jason?"
Carly: "Well, you know how he is. Mr. In-the-moment."
Sonny: "In other words, no."
Carly: "In other words, don't worry about it."
Sonny: "Maybe Jason doesn't want to be with you."
Carly: "Why?"
Sonny: "I don't know."
Carly: "Huh, why, because--because he can't forgive me for what we did on some horrible, stupid night? No, Jason forgave me a long time ago for that. He's not like you."
Sonny: "That's right."
Carly: "We'll be out of here so fast--"
Sonny: "You're not going to have a future with Jason."
Carly: "What, I'm not? No?"
Sonny: "Not the way you want it."
Carly: "Says who?"
Sonny: "You're going to marry me."

III. Sonny Proposes (9/4)

Carly: "You still want to marry me?"
Sonny: "There's no other way to keep you from testifying."

Carly: "What, because you think that I'm a liar, you assume that the jury will, too?"

Sonny: "We conceived a child. I'm trustee of your son's inheritance. Can you just step out of your denial for one second and look at the situation? The jury's going to think you're lying to try to save me."
Carly: "Not everybody who looks at me just assumes that I'm dishonest."
Sonny: "It's not about you. They wouldn't believe Lila Quartermaine because, hey, the circumstances are too loaded!"

Sonny: "She's not a magician! She can't go back in time and make you tell me mike was in trouble or stop you from calling the cops or get you out of that damn closet and warn me before I incriminate myself on tape! You did this! I don't care what your intentions were. Now this is the result. I am facing prison time if you testify. So you won't. You're going to marry me instead."

Carly: "I'm supposed to be married years and years to a man who hates me? Sonny, something is damaged inside of you. Do you know that? I mean, you--you carry around every wrong that was ever done to you in your entire life. You hold it. You carry it like a knife or like a sword. And any time somebody makes a mistake or, in your eyes, lets you down, betrays you, you turn on them and you stick that knife and you cut and you cut and you gouge until there's nothing left. Do you understand that you do that? I was trying to help you, I was trying to do something good, and you are punishing me like I wanted to send you to prison."
Sonny: "I brought you into my home. I protected you. I gave you everything you wanted. I'm offering marriage. How is that punishment?"
Carly: "You can't take being locked up, Sonny. It scares you. And when you get scared, you fight. I remember that night when we got trapped in the elevator. You were like a trapped animal. Be the same way married to me. Be like prison, and you'd hate it."
Sonny: "Prison is a small room with no air, with walls close enough you can touch. I'm not going to prison. Marriage to you is just an inconvenience."
Carly: "Well, I don't want to be an inconvenience for the rest of my life, if it's all the same to you."
Sonny: "Well, you should've thought of that before you got me arrested."

Sonny: "Who cares who's to blame? What happened happened--"
Carly: "Shut up! Don't! Don't. You know what? I hate it when you try to sound like Jason. You are not like him. You're nothing like him, ok? He forgives. He understands. You don't. You can't. Whatever I did to you I've done 10,000 times worse to him. But he accepts it. He forgives me because he knows that I never meant to hurt him because I love him. You can't--I mean, even if you wanted to--you just can't forgive. And I can't live like that, you know? I won't."
Sonny: "Carly--go where you want because you're going to come back eventually. And you're going to marry me. You don't have a choice!"
