II. Zander Takes Care of Business (9/1, 9/4)
Zander:
"I want out. You know, dealing a little ecstasy at raves, you know, every once
in a while, you know, that's one thing. But this is getting way too intense."
Sorel: "You know we're all pleased with your work."
Zander: "I never signed on for a dead cop."
Sorel: "And if he's found, you'll be held responsible."
Sorel: "You know, we're going to need to discuss attitude from time to
time."
Zander: "What if somebody saw what happened, you know, in that motel room?"
Sorel: "Then you would have to get rid of that someone, wouldn't you?"
On the next day:
Gia: "Is this how you spend your evenings--lurking on the docks?"
Zander: "I was passing by. Just thought I'd say hello."
Gia: "Yeah, well, think again."
Zander: "Why so rude all of a sudden? Maybe you've got something to hide. Or maybe
you already said too much. Did you tell your little friend Nikolas about what
you saw in that motel parking lot?"
Gia:
"He's why I was there, all right? His family has more money than god, and they
don't want me with him, so we have to meet at places like the rave and the motel."
Zander: "So you were there to get a room?"
Gia: "Nikolas was supposed to meet me, but he never showed. I didn't want to pay
for a room to spend the night alone, so I went home. You can't tell anybody. His
family would break us up in a heartbeat."
Zander: "Romeo and Juliet. It's very touching. And here's Romeo now. Well, perfect
timing."
Zander:
"You never saw anything in that parking lot. I wasn't there, and neither were
you."
Gia: "Deal."
Nikolas: "The only person who has anything to gain from my uncle's death
was my grandmother."
Taggert: "Luke Spencer had a strong motive, the evidence was found in his possession,
and he ran--all of which makes him look guilty. Now, I know this trial's going
to be hell f you and your brother, and I just wanted to warn you it could be happening
soon."
Nikolas:
"No, I mean what has got you so scared that you would rather hang out with a killer
than face a cop?"
Gia: "All right, I'll tell you. My family's looking for me. They don't know where
I am, and I don't want them to. But knowing my mother, I'm sure she's reported
me to the cops."
Nikolas: "Yeah, she's probably worried, Gia."
Gia: "Does that mean you're going to turn me in?"
Nikolas: "No, I just--I think that you should pick up the phone and call her and
tell her you're ok. I mean, not that you'll listen to me. You never do."
