Letter from the Editor
by Amy McWilliams
Welcome to the General Hospital Review!
This month, we're pleased to welcome a new writer to our staff. Turner Arrington,
who's written for us before, has agreed to come on board as our regular Port
Charles writer. His recurring column on the spin-off begins this month, and
we're thrilled to have him.
We also have a couple of notes on PC in "Quick Takes," as
well as Joan's note on Laura. In addition, Terry talks in her column about ABC's
continued insistence on crossovers in response to the reappearance of Anna Devane
on All My Children. There's also a month of episodes covered in "GH
in Review," featured webpages, lots of goodies in "Say Cheese!"
and a new poll.
So enjoy, and thanks for reading!
GH in Review
by Amy McWilliams
This month's review covers episodes from September of last year. While we're
many months behind, we hope to gain enough ground to get back to our typical 2-month
delay without skipping any episodes. Though my commentary will remain scarce for
the time being, most sections include round-table comments from our editors. And
all sections include screen captures!
As always, thanks go to the GH
Transcripts Page. I depend on it as well as the daily updates from the official
ABC website and r.a.t.s.a. Thanks also to everybody on the GH side
of the Usenet newsgroup rec.arts.tv.soaps.abc for their discussion of the show,
and to the other editors, whose discussion always informs my own opinions and
makes the show so much more fun to watch.
GH in Review: September
Never one to mince words, Joan Roseman began this opinion column to cover (and
complain about) a wide range of topics. This month, Terry steps in to talk about
ABC's persistent crossovers.
"And Another Thing..."
Turner begins his coverage of Port Charles with a look back at "Fate"
and forward to "Time in a Bottle." At this point, there's not much to
praise.
PC in Review
Quick Takes
This feature offers short comments by our editors on a variety of topics, giving
us a chance to stay more up-to-date than the "GH in Review." This month, Joan
offers a note about Laura, while Arda and I have some complaints about the first
telenovella from Port Charles.
Quick Takes
Say Cheese!
This month, "everything changes" in the video clips, while we've got
some new faces on wallpaper. Reginald shines in the screen captures, and there
are scans from Puerto Rico. Check them all out, and then write in and let us know
what you'd like to see on "Say Cheese!"

Readers' Poll
We're following up the follow-up in this month's poll; your favorite couples from
our last poll go up against some new challengers suggested by our readers. Check
it out, and feel free to also send in a note on your choice at the feedback form
below.
Readers' Poll
Reader Mail
We had a quick note early this month from one of our readers on the subject
of Jason and Elizabeth:
To the GHR:
Before Christmas, Lucky and Liz were my favorite couple on GH. But now that
Jason is back in the picture, I want Liz to leave Lucky and go with Jason! Rebecca
Herbst and Steve Burton have undeniable chemistry wich makes their caracters (Liz
and Jason) the perfect match. The episodes where Jason and Liz were playing pool
at Jake's and Lucky saw them, you could definitely see the chemistry! Those were
my favorite episodes ever. It's obvious that Jason has romantic feelings for Liz
and I think that Liz is developping the same feelings towards him! I really think
that General Hospital writers should make Liz and Jason explore a romantic relationship
and write in a new caracter to become Lucky's love interest!

Featured Websites
The first site featured this month was brought to my attention by two of our
editors (if I remember correctly). "The General Hospital Pages" feature
news and spoilers as well as a highly entertaining selection of what, for lack
of a better term, I'll call fan fiction. Peruse the pages of "Emily's Diary,"
find advice in the "Ask Bobbie" column, and view "The Cassadine
Collection" of fine art, and more. The page is beautifully designed, and
we can't wait to see what they come up with next.
The
General Hospital Pages
We occasionally get email from people looking to buy and/or trade tapes of
the show. Recently, my the source I turn to for old tapes went online with a webpage,
so I wanted to feature it here. We are not partners with her in any way, but I
have purchased tapes from her in the past and been very pleased with the service
and quality.
