Ned and Alexis:

I. Alexis Checks In (10/3)

Alexis: "The last thing I needed was just callously ripped from me. Do you know that I'm no longer a consultant to Luke's defense?"

Ned: "Ok, so it's not great. But there are other cases."
Alexis: "For a lingerie lawyer? My credibility is shrinking so fast, it'll be smaller than my teddy."

Alexis: "Emily. I'm sorry. She should've been the first thing I asked about."
Ned: "You're entitled."

Alexis: "No, Chloe checked in and I missed it. Darn."
Ned: "Well, at least we know she's ok."

II. Ned Blows Off Steam (10/5)

Ned: "Does anyone in this department even care that a teenage girl was kidnapped at gunpoint?"
Alexis: "That's Ned."

Ned: "Stefan is gone. He's not coming back. Emily is out there fighting for her life, and every second counts."
Mac: "I'm fully aware of that."
Ned: "Then why aren't you doing anything about it? All right, why aren't--why isn't this department making it their priority to bring Emily back here now?"

Ned: "I was ranting like a maniac at the one man who's actually just trying to do his job."
Alexis: "You were just reminding Mac what his priorities should be."
Ned: "I've been just trying so hard to keep the family optimistic. Day after day I'm spouting the same empty reassurances. 'Don't worry. Emily will be safe and sound. Don't worry. I've hired a private investigator. Don't worry. It's only a matter of time before she comes home.' And I'm just sick and tired of hearing myself. And who ever said I was the strong one in the family, anyway? If anything--if anything ever happens to Emily--"
