The Spencers:
I. Luke Has a Discussion with His Lawyers (10/3)
Alexis: "He's listening."
Scott: "Oh, how can you tell? Is there an on/off switch?"
Alexis: "Only visible to me."
Luke: "Shouldn't you be taking notes, or you expect me to sit up all
night and make flash cards?"
Alexis: "It may not work for you to testify."
Luke: "I didn't kill the creep. What's the problem?"
Luke: "I'm not convinced there is a deceased."
Alexis: "Ok, by now the judge already hates you and the jury is not
favorably impressed."
Luke: "I'm not running for office."
Alexis: "You need to look sympathetic."
Luke: "Forget sympathy. Stick with the facts."
Scott: "Where were you the night that Cassadine was murdered?"
Luke: "Which side, again, were you planning to bill?"
Scott: "Hated him, huh? As in you wished him dead? You would threaten
him with bodily harm over and over again, you know, in front of a lot of witnesses?"
Luke: "No, not over and over again. Just constantly."
Scott: "Guilty as charged."
Luke: "You're fired."
Alexis: "Stop it."
Scott: "And you're headed to the big house."
Scott: "Look at him. Look at--he looks like a terrorist, and he wants
me to put him up on the stand? I don't think so."
Alexis: "He'll be transformed by tomorrow."
Alexis: "Because he's a master of disguise, right?"
Luke: "Right. Who do you want me to be tomorrow?"
Scott: "Well, someone that looks clean and innocent."
Alexis: "A clean-shave pillar of rectitude."
Luke: "Fine, but this pillar of rectitude is going to testify."
Scott: "Well, then I quit."
Luke: "Okey-dokey."
Alexis: "He's no fool. Do you think if it comes down between his word
and the evidence that he's not going to rise to the occasion?"
Dara: "Until such time as I call her to testify, ms. Davis is barred
from your trial."
Scott: "Drop the charges, release my client, and we won't sue for wrongful
arrest."
Dara: "I have an airtight case."
Scott: "Then why are you here trying to peddle a deal?"
Scott: "Ok, listen, do me a favor. Have the guards hose you down tonight.
I want you clean and respectable. See you in the morning."
Scott: "You'll have Laura for moral support."
Luke: "I don't need moral support."
Scott: "When has that ever stopped her?"
Luke: "Hey, Laura doesn't need this, Baldwin."
Scott: "Couldn't agree with you more. But who's going to keep her away? Now,
tell me you have the sense god gave a goose and you told her about the trial."
Luke: "Nobody hired you for family counseling."
Scott: "You know, if you keep firing me, I'm just going to quit."
Luke: "Works for me."
Scott: "I'm trying to prove that you didn't kill Cassadine, dummy!"
Luke: "You don't need my wife to do that!"
Scott: "You see, Laura and Cassadine had a history, all right? So if she
thinks you're innocent, that counts to the public and to the jury. Do you get
it?"
Luke: "What I get is that you're willing to use Laura for public relations
and you don't care that it tears her apart."
Scott: "Laura is strong."
Luke: "Yes, she is. But everybody's got a limit, and she's reached hers.
This whole thing--otherwise she wouldn't have gone away."
Scott: "She can handle it!"
Luke: "I won't let her do it."
Scott: "You know what? It's not your decision to make. So for once in your
miserable, stinking life, Spencer, give Laura the respect that she deserves."
Luke: "I'm ordering you--leave Laura out of this."
Scott: "Well, like it or not, she's a part of this. You two are connected
for life."
Luke: "You work for me!"
Scott: "Yeah, well, she's the one that signed me up while you were playing
hide-and-seek with Interpol. For some reason, she happens to care about you, and
even you can't stop that."
Luke: "Well, I can stop you."
Scott: "Yeah, you can, Spencer. You can fire me. But I'm not going to deceive
a life-long friend."
Luke: "You're stepping way up in class to call my wife your friend, pal."
