The Quartermaines:
I. AJ Arrives in the Emergency Room (10/2)
Hannah: "Dr. Quartermaine, it's A.J."
Audrey: "Now, Monica, you know better than to blame yourself."
Monica: "Oh, really, Audrey? Well, this is the second child that has been
in desperate trouble and couldn't come to me for help. There is a message there
someplace."
Hannah: "A.J. you have so many people that care about you. Why did
you do this to yourself?"
Alan: "Permanent damage?"
Monica: "Just be grateful he's alive."
Alan: "That's right, father. Look around for somebody to blame, as
usual."
Edward: "Are you suggesting that I'm the reason that A.J. Tried to do himself
in?"
Alan: "We're all to blame for A.J. losing hope."
Monica: "Listen, will you stop thinking of him as trying to commit
suicide? He didn't want to hurt himself."
Alan: "Sure is a sad commentary on this family when one of A.J.'s friends
knows more about him than the rest of us."
Edward: "I was always trying to shock him into recovery, Alan. Just
make him fight back."
Alan: "You are an addict's worst nightmare, and you know it."
Edward: "Why is it that only Lila understands that I did everything that
I could think of to keep A.J. From destroying himself?"
Edward: "You remember the night A.J. was born? Hmm? Oh, god, I was
proud. That bright-eyed little bundle. I used to love coming home and having him
run to greet me and then lug my big briefcase into the den. What happened to that
loving little boy, Alan?"
Alan: "We did, father. Alcohol didn't poison him. This family did."
Lila: "Try to wake up, dear. Please?"
Alan: "He's coming to."
Monica: "We're all here."
A.J.: "Hannah?"
A.J.: "We have to stop meeting like this."
Hannah: "You've got that right."
