I. Taggert Gets Worried (6/6)
Taggert: "Oh, you know, that's really weird. We were supposed to have dinner last night. She didn't show up--no message, nothing."
Taggert: "Have you seen A.J. around?"
Tammy: "No, I haven't seen him, either."
Taggert: "All right, because my first thought was, you know, if maybe he took another swan dive, she felt the need to help him."
Tammy: "Oh, well, that's a thankless task."
Taggert: "Yeah, amen to that."
II. And For Good Reason (6/6)
Hannah: "Do you honestly think you're going to get $2 million from Sonny?"
Larkin: "You don't think you're worth it?"
Larkin: "To Sonny, a little cash. You know. You lived the life."
Hannah: "Is that what did it? Is that what turned you--the lifestyle? The cars, the boats, the money? The women?"
Larkin: "A woman who is interested in only money is nothing but a slut--"
Hannah: "Hey, the money's not what's interesting, ok? But power, a man who can make things happen. I've always thought that's why I ended up at the bureau. All those powerful men."
Hannah: "I can't help it. I am programmed to want a bureau guy. I mean, look at you and me."
Larkin: "You and me?"
Hannah: "I have always been attracted to you. And you know it. And you're attracted to me."
Larkin: "And this is based on?"
Hannah: "A certain evening at Kelly's. Remember when you grabbed me and you kissed me?"
Larkin: "To agitate Corinthos."
Hannah: "Yeah, but come on. I've had my standard operational kiss, but--that was tasty. I--I enjoyed it. And so did you."
Larkin: "Caught me."
Hannah: "You know, I've always wondered what would happen if the case hadn't got in the way. Would you have asked me out, Agent Larkin?"
Larkin: "Maybe."
Hannah: "I would've said yes. Where would you have taken me?"
Larkin: "Where would you want to go?"
Hannah: "Definitely a warehouse near the docks."
Larkin: "And why is that?"
Hannah: "It's private."
Larkin: "So what do you want, Hannah?"
Hannah: "Besides a hot bath with all the trimmings?"
Larkin: "You lived large, Hannah. Up there in the penthouse, a limo to take you shopping, nights out at the best clubs in town. You going to settle for less?"
Hannah: "I didn't say I didn't enjoy it. But that's Sonny's world. I don't think he's inviting me back anytime soon."
Larkin: "I didn't mean Sonny."
Larkin: "Now I know you were in love with Corinthos. Because you certainly are no actress."
Hannah: "Sonny never pretended to be anything different. He is what he is, and he's a lot better than you'd ever expect. But you had to be Mr. By-the-book--"
Larkin: "And look at where it got me. I am not spending the rest of my life trying to bust garbage like Corinthos only to have him get up and walk away every time."
Larkin: "I'm finished. It's over. It's that simple. This good guy is giving up."
Hannah: "Good guy? Larkin, this is kidnapping. Me, the warehouse, the money, come on. This is a great big federal offense."
Larkin: "And here I thought you liked me."
Larkin: "See, Sonny has to be stopped. And no one is doing it. You fell in love with him, your father's working for him. I concede. He's won. It's over. All I want is a ticket out of here and enough cash to keep playing."
Larkin: "Where did you get this?"
Hannah: "It came with my decoder ring."
Hannah: "You're not going to kill me. You need me."
Larkin: "Sonny only has to think you're alive."
III. Hannah Tries to Make a Break (6/8)
Larkin: "Don't pull that charm stuff again. You're tempting, but resistible."
Hannah: "A condemned woman put away 1,500 calories in one sitting. Great."
Larkin: "Noisy, isn't it?"
Hannah: "What have you got out there?"
Larkin: "First-rate disposal unit. And it drowns out anything we don't want the neighbors to hear."
Hannah: "It's all over, Larkin!"
Larkin: "It is for you! By the time they get here, you'll be long gone."
IV. Larkin Realizes that He Can't Get Away (6/12)
Larkin: "Nobody is around Fourth Street at this late hour, Agent Scott. You ought to know that. The building's empty and we are way too high."
Hannah: "My father will find me."
Larkin: "Well, as soon as I catch my breath, then we'll give Superdaddy a call."
Hannah: "Roy's probably climbing up those stairs right now!"
Larkin: "Well, maybe so. But by the time he gets here with the ransom, it'll be way too late to save his baby girl."
V. AJ and Bobbie Go Around About Michael (6/19)
A.J.: "What if I promise not to drink? I mean, your company is the only thing that could possibly get me through a night at the Nurses' Ball sober."
Hannah: "Thank you, A.J., but I think I may already have a date."
A.J.: "You know, Carly had a great time in Hawaii. We all did--me, Michael, Carly, once upon a time when I still had a family."
Bobbie: "Take it someplace else, A.J."
A.J.: "Michael is my son, all right? Not just Carly's. And not Sonny's at all--mine. And they won't let me see him. I asked her, you know, just let me stand by the swings and watch. No. She refused. And Sonny ran me out of the park. I mean, what--what gives them the right?"
Bobbie: "Careful. I just might tell you."
A.J.: "You know, Bobbie, fathers have rights."
Bobbie: "You don't, A.J., because you signed them away."
A.J.: "Sonny blackmailed me."
Bobbie: "Oh. Oh, would you hear yourself? In order to be blackmailed, you were to have done something wrong. Look, A.J., I have always cared about you, and I've always hoped that you would land on your feet, but this time, you didn't. So, let's just leave it at that."
A.J.: "Yeah, but Michael is still my son."
Bobbie: "You and Carly have a legally binding divorce. She has full custody."
A.J.: "Do you think that's fair? Hmm? For the rest of my life to never see my son?"
Bobbie: "Don't ask me what's fair. And don't try to tell me how bad you felt that night on the stairs or how much you had to drink because you had a responsibility, A.J. You had a responsibility to control yourself and you didn't. And if you would have just stopped for one minute, if you would have stopped drinking or stopped fighting, my daughter wouldn't have fallen down the stairs, and my grandson would still be alive. I'm sorry. Why do you do this? Why do you push and push until we have to hit you over the head with things?"
A.J.: "I love my son, Bobbie."
Bobbie: "Then leave him be. Michael needs to feel safe. And he needs to hear gentle words, and he needs to know that his whole life isn't going to change in an instant. You can't give him that."
A.J.: "And Carly can? Living with Sonny, who's two inches away from an indictment?"
Bobbie: "Oh, you know, when I come out of that kitchen, you better be gone."
VI. Hannah and Taggert Make a Date for the Nurses' Ball (6/19)
Hannah: "Now, how did you know I wanted to see you?"
Taggert: "Well, it must be that sixth sense we cops have."
Hannah: "Tell me, lieutenant, what's on my mind?"
Taggert: "Ok, ah--you are going to say yes to my question."
Hannah: "I guess you better ask me and find out."
Taggert: "Will you spend the night with me? [Taggert laughs] I wish I had a camera for that."
Hannah: "Oh. Oh, you're going to pay for that."
Hannah: "I'll spend the night with you, lieutenant."
Taggert: "You will?"
Hannah: "At the station. In fact, I'll give you 26 hours--"
Taggert: "26 hours."
Hannah: "And then, my sixth sense predicts that something even more interesting will happen."
Taggert: "Ok, well, 26 hours would take us to tomorrow night. Oh. You think the Nurses' Ball is going to be more interesting than a couple of chili dogs at the PCPD?"
Hannah: "Well, that depends on a certain lieutenant. He can sit at home, lining up his shoes in the closet, or he can ask someone to dance."
Taggert: "You want to dance with me, Hannah?"
Hannah: "Yes, I do."
Taggert: "Well, then I guess I'd better ask you to the Nurses' Ball."
Hannah: "I think you better."
Taggert: "I already bought the tickets. And I booked a limo."
Hannah: "So why didn't you ask me?"
Taggert: "Well, I knew you went with Sonny last year and I thought maybe it might bring up some memories you'd rather not."
Hannah: "You're a really great guy, Taggert. And I'd love to go to the Nurses' Ball with you."
Taggert: "Well, I'm glad I finally asked."
Hannah: "Who asked?"
Taggert: "Well, you know, I had a little help."
VII. AJ Celebrates with Hannah (6/22)
A.J.: "He left you all by your lonesome at the Nurses' Ball?"
Hannah: "Well, you'd have to be a cop to understand, A.J."
A.J.: "You're not going to believe this. Your ex-boyfriend just saved my life."
Hannah: "Sonny?"
A.J.: "Don't you just love fate's little ironies, huh?"
A.J.: "Oh, yeah, I thought I was gone. This close. And you know what? It felt incredible."
A.J.: "I stood right here, right here, staring down the barrel of a gun held by a psycho, and I wasn't afraid. I wasn't not afraid. I just--I didn't give a damn. And the second I realized that--that it didn't matter--I moved closer. You know what? I never felt so alive, Hannah, ever."
Hannah: "A.J., know what? I think you should call it a night."
A.J.: "No. No, no, no. You don't understand. I can do anything. I can. I survived Carly with a gun in her hand. I--I can wrap my car around a tree and walk away. Even Corinthos can't touch me. I'm safe. Indestructible--finally."
Hannah: "What you are is drunk."
A.J.: "Absolutely."
Hannah: "And incredibly lucky."
A.J.: "You know what? Call it whatever you want."
Hannah: "What, you think you can kiss me anytime you feel like it? That's what our friendship is about?"
A.J.: "Who wants to be friends? Not me--I. Not I."
Hannah: "I don't know why I'm so concerned about you."
A.J.: "You know what? I think you're hot."
Hannah: "Is that supposed to be funny?"
A.J.: "You think I just want to hold hands with you and listen to you lecture me on the evils of alcohol?"
Hannah: "You could do worse."
A.J.: "I like my life, Hannah. I like it just the way it is. Let's toast, shall we? To staying alive."
Hannah: "How about if we take you back to your room safely?"
A.J.: "Now, that's the best offer I've had all night."
Hannah: "To sleep."
A.J.: "Together?"
Hannah: "Last chance, A.J. And you can't bring the flask with you."
A.J.: "I can wait."
VIII. AJ Horns in on a Pool Game (6/23)
Hannah: "You show a lot of promise there."
Taggert: "Well, I'm glad you think so."
Hannah: "I know so."
A.J.: "Mind if I cut in on the next round?"
Taggert: "You know what? Butt out, A.J."
Hannah: "We'll see you around."
Taggert: "We all make our own choices, Hannah."
Hannah: "It's still hard to watch."
Taggert: "Then don't."
A.J.: "Join me?"
Hannah: "Not while you're drinking."
A.J.: "Suitable for minors. Check it out."
Hannah: "Club soda."
A.J.: "Told you. Come on."
Hannah: "Oh, I didn't even see my dad and Bobbie walk in."
A.J.: "Well, I'm glad I have such a mesmerizing effect on you."
Hannah: "Get over yourself."
A.J.: "You want to take me on?"
Hannah: "A.J., I told you last night. You and I are friends, nothing more."
A.J.: "I meant for a game of pool."
Hannah: "Oh, yeah, sure. Of course."
A.J.: "Same stakes at Taggert?"
Hannah: "Yeah--if you lose, you're going to buy me dinner."
A.J.: "Before or after the kiss?"
Hannah: "Now, why ruin a beautiful friendship?"
A.J.: "So does that mean you don't want to have my babies?"
Hannah: "Choose your weapon."
A.J.: "Tell you what. I win, I get a kiss. You win, I don't know, I'll go to an A.A. meeting."
Hannah: "Deal. But I should warn you, I'm somewhat of a shark."
A.J.: "Yeah, right. Bring it."
IX. And Won't Back Off (6/27)
Taggert: "You know, I was thinking it's time we discussed Agent Scott. You know, I've realized she's going to keep rescuing you. That's what she does. She can't help herself. You are a screw up. She's a fixer. But I've seen the damage you can cause, A.J., and Hannah's not going to end up on that list. If anything happens to Hannah, believe me when I tell you I'll make sure worse happens to you."
A.J.: "You want to save her from me? That's funny because I was thinking I need to rescue her from you."
A.J.: "She doesn't deserve someone like you using her to get back at Sonny, man."
Taggert: "You know what? Keep your psychobabble to yourself, all right? All I'm interested in is making sure you don't wreck Hannah the way you wreck everything else that crosses your path."
A.J.: "Oh."
Taggert: "If I should see so much as a tear in her eye put there by you, I will find you and give you what I believe you've been wanting someone to give you your entire life."
Taggert: "You've already escaped one near fatality while driving under the influence. You didn't learn anything from that. It's only a matter of when you're going to hurt somebody or kill somebody again. The only person I'm positive that won't be is Hannah. As far as I'm concerned, you're dangerous. Now, if you cared about Hannah, you would leave her alone."
A.J.: "I don't want to leave her alone. And you know what? If she wants to save me--well, you know what? I just might let her. See you."
Taggert: "You know, your eavesdropping techniques--they could use a little work."
Hannah: "Well, family isn't always the answer. I mean, I seem to be able to get through to him. When he's sober, he's a good person. I mean, it seems wrong to just stand by and watch him ruin his life if I can help him."
Taggert: "You know what's been my experience with people who are fixers? They usually have something in their own life that they are trying to avoid that needs tending to."
Hannah: "I'm not a fixer. You don't see me trying to fix you, do you?"
Taggert: "No, there's nothing to fix."
Hannah: "Yeah, but he's unhappy, so he's going to do his best to spread it around. I know better than to listen."
Dara: "If you want to break up Taggert and Hannah, you're on your own. And don't ever call my office for something like this again."
A.J.: "Hey--admit it. You hope I succeed."
