From the Files: Port Charles Charity Guild Cookbook
edited by Amanda Barrington
The Port Charles Charity Guild is pleased to present this volume of cherished
recipes from the citizens of Port Charles. We sincerely hope you will treasure
these recipes as much as the contributors do. From breakfast to lunch to dinner,
these recipes will make all of your meals truly memorable. And we haven't forgotten
snacks and desserts! We have left the recipes as they were submitted and none
were tested. Bon Appetit!
Luke Spencer's Breakfast Cheese Fries
Grab a handful of last night's leftover french fries, preferably from my Blues
Club kitchen. Throw 'em on a plate. Slap a liberal quantity of sliced, processed
cheese food on top. Microwave 'til cheese food bubbles. Enjoy at desk with a stiff
"scotch on the rocks."
AJ Quartermaine's Favorite Cereal
Fill cereal bowl about half way with corn flakes. Fill bowl to rim with vodka.
Allow to rest momentarily while arguing with family member. Using spoon, scrape
soggy flakes from bowl. Drink corn flavored vodka from bowl.
Success Tip: You can substitute other types of cereal or omit cereal
altogether. Vodka is the key ingredient to this recipe. I always carry my own
supply in a silver flask.
Carly Benson Quartermaine Corinthos's Anytime Meals
Pizza: Remove snack-size, pre-cooked pizza from freezer. Tear box and
wrapping from pizza. Microwave on high till cheese melts.
Toaster Waffles: Remove toaster waffles from freezer. Tear box open.
Place one or two in toaster (or toaster oven), select the setting you prefer--light,
medium, or dark--and push down the toaster button. The waffles are ready when
they pop out of the toaster. Serve with lots of syrup.
Scott Baldwin's Polished Apples
Aw, for crying out loud, who the heck needs a recipe for apples? Well, I have
a little newsflash for you--this is the last time I'm being roped into this charity
cookbook stuff! Here it goes:
With right hand, carefully select one relatively unbruised fresh apple. Rub
briskly on left sleeve. Eye polished apple admiringly; bite briskly with gusto
and chew nonchalantly.
Alexis Davis's popcorn
Retrieve package of microwave popcorn from cabinet. Unfold package and place
in microwave. Set the timer for 4 minutes. When the timer rings, tear open package,
place the popcorn in a large bowl and serve.
Success Tip: It's always a good idea to have another package handy
in case the first one burns.
Sonny Corinthos's Island Fish
Personally select a thin filet of fresh white fish. This is the kind of thing
you have to do for yourself, you know what I'm saying? Heat dry, white wine in
saucepan with generous pat of country butter. Blend fresh Mediterranean herbs.
Quickly sauté fish over high heat, sprinkling the herbs on each side. Serve with
remaining white wine.
Brenda Barrett's Mint Cookies
(recipe submitted by Julia Barrett)
Call the Port Charles Concierge and have room service bring up a plateful
of mint cookies.
