Letter from the Editor
by Amy McWilliams
Welcome to the General Hospital Review!
It's February, and that means Valentine's Day. To celebrate the occasion we've
included couples in our character border, as well as some appropriate downloads
in "Say Cheese!"
We're also thrilled to re-introduce Port Charles into our lineup in
a more substantial way. We have a new writer on board who has agreed to review
the three months of PC's first installment of its new "telenovela"
format, "Fate." She opens with a review of December and January's episodes.
We welcome her and thank her for her hard work, and for agreeing to put up with
all of us. *G*
In addition, Arda's here with "And Another Thing...", while Joan
and I sound off in "Quick Takes." We've also got "GH in
Review," a new poll question, and featured webpages below.
Enjoy, and thanks for reading!
GH in Review
by Amy McWilliams
This month's review covers episodes from August of last year. While we're many
months behind, we hope to catch up in this spring to our typical 2-month delay.
At this point, we have no plans to skip any episodes. Though my commentary will
remain scarce for the time being, most sections include round-table comments from
our editors. And though we hate to do it, to gain some ground I'm going to have
to do fewer photos, at least for the time being.
As always, thanks go to the GH
Transcripts Page. I depend on it as well as the daily updates from the official
ABC website and r.a.t.s.a. Thanks also to everybody on the GH side
of the Usenet newsgroup rec.arts.tv.soaps.abc for their discussion of the show,
and to the other editors, whose discussion always informs my own opinions and
makes the show so much more fun to watch.

"And Another Thing...": Is There a Script
Doctor in the House?
by Arda Darakjian Clark
Never one to mince words, Joan Roseman's opinion column has covered a wide
range of topics. This month, Arda steps in to talk about some recent troubles
she's had with the dialogue on GH.
"And Another Thing..."
PC in Review
by Isabelle M. Pitcher
Bella starts her review of Port Charles's first televnovela, "Fate,"
with a review of the first 2 months--the chapters "Desire" and "Deception."
So if you're thinking of trying out "the little soap that could," or
if you missed a few days and want to find out what happened, we hope you'll enjoy
this new addition to our lineup.

Quick Takes
This feature offers short comments by our editors on a variety of topics more
recent than those featured in "GH in Review." This month, Joan offers a note about
Alexis, while I ponder my reaction to the new format over on Port Charles.

Say Cheese!
This month, we've got couples and Cassadines. Check them out, and then write in
and let us know what you'd like to see on "Say Cheese!"

Readers' Poll
We've got the results of last month's pre-Valentine's Day poll, and this month
we've got a follow-up question. Check it out, and feel free to also send in a
note on your choice at the feedback form below.

Featured Websites
This month we're featuring some sites that offer more general content on the
show at large.
First up, a site that claims to be "where satire and hero worship collide."
"General Shmospital" offers a great blend of humor and commentary, as
well as a nice collection of sounds. Joan is hooked, and brought this site to
my attention.
General Shmospital
This next site was recommended to us by one of our readers. "KerryAnn's
General Hospital Page" offers a page of photos for each character, along
with a general description of that character's history. While lots of the photos
seem to come from the ABC webpages, most of them aren't available now. There are
also other photos I haven't seen anywhere else, so it's a nice repository, and
a helpful primer on character backgrounds. The simple design is easy to navigate
and quick to load.

And finally, because we know some of you need a little pick-me-up around Valentine's
day (alas, they don't have my favorite...), we're featuring "Shrine to the
Soap Hunks." This site offers photos of a range of men from a variety of
soaps (though there are none from Port Charles that I see). And if you
can stop drooling for a minute, you'll see that the design is nice and the indexes
of photos easy to navigate.

As always, if you would like to recommend a site for recognition in a future
issue, you can do so at the feedback form or send us an email.
