Letter from the Editor
by Amy McWilliams
Welcome to the General Hospital Review!
Here at the tail end of summer we're finding ourselves pretty busy and needing
a break--from the show, actually, which most of our editors find uninteresting
just now (though personally I just need a break to catch up on the show). So we're
running with a light and breezy summertime issue, as we usually do one month out
of the summer.
What's here is good stuff, though, and we hope you enjoy it. Judy's reviewed
the month of July for us this month, and we have the usual selection of goodies
in "Say Cheese!" The surprise gem this month came from an email we got
from a new reader. Her questions had us all talking, and Arda has written a lovely
response. Check it out, and then send in your responses to the questions as well,
if you like; we'd be glad to hear from you and to run other opinions in future
reader mail columns. And if you have a question you'd like us to ponder, send
it in as well. We love to get mail!
Thanks for reading, and enjoy!
GH in Review: July: "Much Ado About Nothing?"
or "Much Doing, But Accomplishing Nothing?"
by Judy Ellison
Judy's review of July brings lots of good observations on storylines and characters,
as well as offering informational comments on televised medical procedures (we're
also an educational site!). She runs down her highs and lows and comments a bit
on how she thinks the new backstage team is doing overall.
Thanks go to the daily updates from the official
ABC website. Thanks also to everybody on the GH side of the Usenet
newsgroup rec.arts.tv.soaps.abc for their discussion of the show, and to the other
editors, whose discussion always informs my own opinions and makes the show so
much more fun to watch.

Reader Mail: Can GH Be Saved?
Arda writes in response to some questions from a reader, who asks, "can
GH be saved?" Both the reader and Arda consider the downturn in quality
from our show in the past years, while Arda writes her prescription for salvation.
If you have an opinion on these questions, and would like your answers to appear
in a future reader mail column, let us know. Or if you'd like to pose a question
for us yourself, we'd be glad to give it a whirl.
And as a side note, Judy fills us in on the classical music played at the end
of the August 15th episode. How's that for a quick answer?

Featured Websites
It's been a while since we featured a good overall site, and this one was sent
in to us by a reader. GHDaytime.com has scoops and spoilers, opinions, photos,
chat, and a message board. The site is heavy on flash, but quick to load on my
slow Internet connection. It's easy on the eyes, and though still fairly new,
looks really promising.

Another fairly new site that was brought to our attention by a reader is The
General Hospital Quiz Zone. This site features 28 quizzes at present, with questions
in each quiz from different time periods and characters. Some questions are standard
knowledge, others might cause you to break out the video tape to find the answer.
Luckily, the answers are provided!
