From the Editor
by Amy McWilliams

Welcome to the November issue of the General Hospital Review! We're publishing a bit late this month because I had events in real life on the weekend of the 15th, but we thank you for your patience. Since we were delayed anyway, I took the chance to get caught up on the review portion of the GHR, so this issue covers the second half of September and the entire month of October for GH (I'll include the October summary of PC in next month's issue).

Also in this issue you'll find more of the columns we've had in the past as well as some new things we're starting to develop. First, the familiar. We have a new installment of "What's Cookin' on the Backburner" from Judy Ellison, as well as my reviews of current issues. We've also got the next installment of Teresa Leslie's "Small Stuff," this time concerning Elizabeth's bracelets.

As for the new, Joan Roseman begins our "How We Watch" series with an article comparing her viewing habits with those of her sister. In conjunction with that column, we're also sponsoring our first poll. Let us know how you watch, and perhaps we'll publish your entry in a later issue! Finally, we have our first two letters to the editor. We're always interested in hearing from you, so send in your letter now to be considered for publication in December.

That's our November issue! Look for more to come in the months ahead. Next month, we hope to begin our next new column, and in later issues we're anticipating our first exclusive interview as well as a few guest writers. So help us spread the word about the GHR by adding us to any web pages/lists of links on which we don't already appear. The correct address is ../../index.html.

Enjoy, and thanks for reading!

GH and PC in Review
by Amy McWilliams

This issue's review covers seven weeks on GH: September 14th to October 30th. The end of September's episodes of PC are included as well; October's episodes will appear in the next issue.

Thanks again to Allyn Wilkinson for her GH Transcripts Page. I depend on her as well as the daily updates from the official ABC website and r.a.t.s.a. Thanks also to everybody on the GH side of the Usenet newsgroup rec.arts.tv.soaps.abc for their discussion of the show.

Featured Web Page:
Quartermainia

Each month the General Hospital Review features one of the outstanding GH or PC web pages on the net. We alternate between general sites dedicated to the entire show and smaller, more focused sites--usually character-centered pages. This month, we're honoring a page dedicated to one of the great families of Port Charles, Quartermainia. The page includes information on all the family members, histories, pictures, etc. Furthermore, the graphics, organization, page design, and navigation help make this a truly beautiful page.

If you'd like to nominate a page (even your page) for recognition here, send us the request at the feedback form.

Small Things: Elizabeth's Bracelets
by Teresa Leslie

Teresa Leslie's column focuses on the small, seemingly insignificant things on GH. When noticed and considered, however, these little details illuminate many things about the characters and plots. This month, she talks about the parallelism between the two lost bracelets of Elizabeth Webber.

What's Cookin' on the Backburner: Episode 2
by Judy Ellison

Judy Ellison's concoction is a fictional look at the characters who are, shall we say, not so busy right now. This month, she serves up the second chapter in her saga, in which a new face shows up at the bar.
