To: GHR Over the next year I would like to see an expansion of Carly's character. She needs to learn to stand alone, and I definitely don't believe that she should get together with Jason. Jason and Carly need each other, at this time however, I believe they need each other as friends. While reading your review and talking to friends, I frequently hear the idea that Carly and AJ should get together as friends, lovers, or even enemies. While I do agree they do have great chemistry together, I would like to see Carly's relationship with Sonny expanded over '99. They share a similar childhood (both having been abandoned) and their veiled dislike of each other has led to some great lines. This is one teaming I would be interested to see. Especially if it conflicted with Sonny's growing desire to gain respectability. I think these two as friends, enemies, or lovers would be truly potent.
To: GHR What one thing do I want to see happen in 1999? That's such an easy question to answer.... I want to see the return of Robert and Anna Scorpio. Of course there are other things I'd like too, Luke and Laura back together for one, but that's another post. I started watching GH in the 70's before Laura came on. And I loved Luke and Laura then (and still do now) but, once I saw Robert and Anna, I was hooked on them! They had a passionate love affair and were torn apart by lies and betrayal. Then they slowly became friends again as they raised their daughter, and (mostly) supported each other's attempts to have new romantic relationships. It took GH six years to put this couple back together, and...it was worth the wait. They were loving, and tender, passionate and funny. GH needs them now, more than ever. |
To: GHR From: Traci Williams Date: Sun, 31 Jan 1999 For 1999 to be a "dream season," General Hospital will have to feature Kristina Wagner, Wally Kurth and Lisa Cerasoli in front-burner storylines that actually have potential. Felicia has been my favorite character for years, and I have disliked seeing her put in dead-end storylines like the "fake Mac" and the "I'm in this storyline only to give me a cause to meet Tammy and to eventually help Alan get off drugs" storyline. When given great material (such as the build-up to the beautiful wedding of Mac and Felicia, which I cannot BELIEVE your year in review column didn't even mention), Kristina can knock our socks off. She deserves so much more screen time...QUALITY screen time...than she is given. Ned is a character whom Guza has forgotten about, and GH needs him desperately. I want to see him forsake ELQ (not the family itself) and delve into a relationship with V. He and Alexis aren't going anywhere. Those are my top wishes, but another one would be for AJ to receive custody of Michael and prove that he can be an even better father than Jason. Crossing my fingers! Traci
To: GHR What I would dearly love to see in 1999 on GH is a real development of Laura & Stefan's storyline and them building a new life together. Not as a temporary thing - a break from the tried & true Luke & Laura pairing - but as them having a real life and future together. Stefan has waited and wanted her for almost two decades. Give this tortured soul some happiness at last! Let Laura & Leslie Lu move into Wyndemere - have her do a whole number on the place - what woman could resist re-decorating that amazing house - and on an unlimited budget, too! Laura and Lu-Lu could breathe new life and love into Nikolas and Stefan's lonely world. As Stefan recently told her, "You DO have a family, Laura...Nikolas and I are waiting. All you have to do is come home." God, that scene left no dry eyes in the house. So poignant and beautifully played. Give Nichols and Francis the ball and let them run with it - their chemistry is not to be denied! MORE STEFAN & LAURA! (Luke!! who???)
